Our organic cacao beans are rich in antioxidants and contain an array of minerals, such as phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, and copper. They are also a good source of fibre and alkaloids, such as caffeine and theobromine, being prized in the health food industry for their ability to combat physical and mental fatigue.
Over 3,000 years ago, cacao beans were considered so valuable in Mesoamerica that they were used as a currency. Today, they are cherished around the world for their health benefits and extraordinarily rich flavours. Our raw organic Peruvian and Ecuatorian cacao beans are characterised by fruity notes, including banana, papaya, mango, and other tropical fruits alongside earthy essences of tobacco, mushrooms, and wood. Occasionally, these are also rounded off with subtle herbal notes.
