Our organic shea butter is extracted from shea nuts which grow on the african Vitellaria paradoxa tree by applying mechanical pressure. This is then followed by a careful refining process to ensure its smooth texture. Shea butter is prized by producers and consumers for its high fatty acid and vitamin content.
Over the years, chocolate producers have increasingly begun using shea butter as a replacement for cocoa butter. In the cosmetics industry, on the other hand, it has been used as a moisturiser and medicinal staple for centuries. Thanks to shea butter's ability to help reduce and heal skin allergies, wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, and psoriasis, it is considered by many to be a "skin superfood".
